Pre-Women’s Month Film wins the hearts of Agriculture Students by Abegail M. Magculang

Torrijos Marinduque – Last February 21, 2019, by 1: 30 in the afternoon, Marindukanon Hearts Caravan went to Marinduque State College Torrijos Branch to commemorate the 99th Marinduque Foundation Day. MSC Sentro ng Wika at Kultura together with Litera Club led the National Arts Month celebration. The event was attended by the Certificate of Agricultural Science students, Dr. Randy T. Nobleza, MSC SWK Director was the guest speaker. During the first part, Dr. Nobleza shared the documents, invitation, letters and endorsement about the said program. Then the SWK Director asked the participants to read the School of Liberal Arts Student Organization (SLASO) Resolution No. 1 Series of 2019 and showed the upcoming activities for 100th year of Marinduque in 2020. Then the highlight of the commemorative activity is the film screening of Marindukanon Short Films made by Grade 12 Media Information Literacy students: Reincarnated Since 1811, Discombobulate, and Campo de Pagbabago. After which, some CAS students shared their insights and lessons, Erica Mae Postrado, Neville Fabul and Rina Palmero talked about Campo De Pagbabago. They said that they can relate much about the acceptance of an individual when it comes to gender equality Since March is Women’s Month, MSC SWK Marindukanon with LItClub would be posting advocacy materials on violence against women and children. By May, in celebration of Literature in honor of Francisco Baltazar’s birth month, LitClub would be hosting a Gender and Literature Conference  with the MSC Gender and Development unit. Please watch out for another run of Marindukanon Short Films within  the 2ndsemester 2018-19.
